Neil Patrick Harris was mentionated the other day during the interview of Jesse Tyler Ferguson, actor of Modern Family, at Live With Regis and Kelly. Jesse and Kelly Ripa promised to follow each other on Twitter, then talked about the large number of Twitter followers that mutual friend Neil has, and the fact that he has yet to follow either of their Tweets.

Neil Patrick Harris is bringing British television to the U.S. – the TV actor is in talks to host and produce the American version of U.K. game show “The Cube“.

The programme, which places contestants in a small plastic cube to induce stress while they perform physical tasks, has become a smash hit in Britain.

And the How I Met Your Mother star is travelling to London later this year (10) to record a pilot for an adaptation for U.S. network CBS, reports TheWrap.com.

In addition to hosting, Harris will also serve as executive producer.

The Cube is the latest hosting gig for Harris, who has already served as the master of ceremonies for the Emmys, the Tony Awards and the TV Land Awards.

MTV News is making the case that Neil Patrick Harris should replace Simon Cowell next season after he departs from American Idol.

The star on the CBS show How I Met Your Mother is no stranger to a little singing and dancing and apparently gave a stellar performance as an Idol guest judge on Wednesday night’s show.

“He was unafraid to shatter dreams or snicker at particularly awful wannabes. He offered advice — even faint praise — when the situation warranted it, he mastered the art of making the “wowed” face when a particularly great voice caught his fancy,” the review gushes.

But it looks as though a lot of people are vying for the V-necked one’s job: Perez Hilton pleaded to MTV News that he wants to be Cowell’s replacement. While Perez could probably dish it out sassier than Harris, I’m not sure “That was downright shiteous!” is the right touch.
